Why is this year’s experience different to previous events?
Last year we wanted to make sure kids didn’t miss out on a chance to speak to Santa during the pandemic, so he agreed to Zoom calls during the festive period. This year, for various health and safety reasons as Covid-19 is still a very real issue, we wanted to provide a safer alternative to the 4th Floor Balcony dmg media children’s party. On 4th and 5th December Santa and his elves have agreed to meet families at a big enough venue to allow for an immersive festive, walk-through experience that will last 30 minutes for each family. All will be revealed on the day, but let’s just say Santa needs some help saving Christmas this year from someone mean and green...
Is this experience free of charge?
Yes, this is a festive perk specially chosen for dmg media colleagues. Available on a first come, first served basis, this special Christmas treat is for free to all FTC colleagues.
Will dmg media cover travel and accommodation costs if I live outside of London?
Unfortunately not. This is a free employee benefit so any other costs associated with the event will need to be covered by you or your department – you may ask your line manager.
Who can book this experience?
Any full time colleague can book this experience for their child or grandchild - sorry nephews and nieces are not eligible for this benefit at this time. We ask that if you can’t make the experience you let us know as soon as possible by emailing email@example.com so we can free up your spot for another family looking for some festive cheer.
When is this available?
This experience is available on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December 2021. Each session is 30 minutes long.
Where is this experience taking place?
Santa and his team of merry elves are going to be providing a one-off experience for dmg media colleagues at the Hilton London Bankside hotel. The venue is nearby many restaurants, coffee shops and museums (including the Tate Modern) so why not make a day out of your visit? You’ll see what else you can do near the venue here.
Is there wheelchair/pram access?
Yes, Hilton London Bankside hotel is accessibility-friendly. We’ll also have a cloakroom on site.
Is there somewhere for me to park if I bring a car?
Unfortunately not - that’s why we’ve chosen a venue that is easily accessible by TfL services.
What email address should I use to book?
You MUST use your dmg media work email address to book this experience. We don’t want you ending up on Santa’s naughty list, do we?
What about GDPR?
Your data is stored, used and managed in compliance with GDPR regulations. It will only be used in relation to your booking, and will never be shared. Please contact Zoe Perkins on firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about your data.
When will bookings close?
The booking pages will close at 5pm on Friday 26th November 2021, or when the experience is fully booked if that comes first. We anticipate this to be another fully booked benefit, so book as soon as you can!
What do I need to know before booking?

Each slot allows two families to go through the experience together - that’s two bookable slots

Can I book for more than one child?
Each bookable slot is for one family and we appreciate that families come in all shapes and sizes. We ask that you only book this experience for your children or grandchildren to be fair to others who share the space with you. Sorry, this means that nieces, nephews, goldfish, cats and dogs aren’t allowed to attend!
What age group is this suitable for?
It’s a family-friendly event so all are welcome, but we think the children who will get the most out of this immersive experience are the ones who believe in Santa.
ABOUT YOUR SAFETY
What do I need to do before the event?
The NHS recommends that everyone takes lateral flow tests twice a week (every 3-4 days) to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 and we support this recommendation in the week leading up to your slot. The above link also shows you where you can get your free test kits from. If you or any of your family begin to feel unwell before the event, please stay at home.
Will we be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing?
Rest assured we will be abiding by the UK Government’s guidance for the whole experience. We say masks aren’t mandatory but kindness is, so do what makes you feel comfortable. Social distancing measures are also no longer mandatory at indoor events, but Santa and his helpers will be maintaining a safe and comfortable distance from everyone as much as possible.
Will the event be really busy?
No, in short. We’re running the event as an immersive experience families can move through so the experience will be unique and not crowded. Only two families will occupy any spot at any given time during the experience.
Are Santa and his elves professional entertainers?
We take you and especially your children/grandchildren’s safety very seriously and ensure all Santa’s elves (and even the man himself!) have up-to-date DBS background checks in place.
My child is unsure or anxious about Santa. What will happen if they are unhappy during the experience?
Santa and his elves are very professional and will be very flexible to accommodate the child’s needs. If you need to pop out during the immersive experience at any point, that’s fine. There will be plenty of support on the day so just let one of the attending Elves know. We also want to make this an inclusive event for all children so if there are any specific needs which need to be met, please let us know in advance by emailing email@example.com.

Will Santa discuss the childrens' Christmas list?
Santa will personalise his interaction with the children, based on the information that you provide when you complete your booking. We like to focus on discussing who has been nice and what good deeds they've done this year. We'll never promise a specific gift to a child.
Is there going to be a gift?
We want to make the experience the main focus of festive cheer, not presents. With that said, there will be a small age-appropriate gift for each child to take home and put under the tree, and there may even be a treat for parents/grandparents at the end… if they’re nice!
Can I provide the gift instead?
Sure thing! Please let us know when you complete your booking that you would like to do that and bring it with you.
What will the experience look like?
It's magical! Think warm fires, log cabin, snowy scenes, mulled wine and hot chocolate and more...
Will Santa have a real beard?
Our Santas are as mythically real as possible. They will be wearing professional quality beard pieces.

I've booked, now what?
Wonderful! You should have received an initial confirmation email from us. You will receive a second confirmation from us one day before your booking, which will have a little more detail about what to expect on the day. Time to start planning your activities around the event! Do check out the area in advance and plan your route accordingly.
How do I update the information I provided when I booked?
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to update the information you’ve given us or if your plans change and you can no longer make it. We understand these are unprecedented times and don’t want this to stop you from having some magical festive fun.
